My Story

Our maternity shoot, the day before diagnosis.

In July of 2016, I found a lump in my right breast.  I was about 28 weeks pregnant with our second son but convinced myself that my body was prepping for milk production and the lump might just be a clogged milk duct.  As if perhaps my body wanted to be some sort of breast milk overachiever or something cool like that. So I waited to say anything to my midwife until my regularly scheduled appointment a few weeks later.

At 32 weeks pregnant, I would find out that the lump was actually 5 separate tumors and was officially diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I was induced at 35 weeks, ended up with an emergency cesarian, and began chemo two weeks later.  My entire story has been documented in the previous posts, as I continue to document my life going forward as I navigate this ‘new normal’…
